(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Reaching out to European customers seeking reduced latency and greater accessibility, Orlando, Florida-based web hosting provider Surpass Hosting (www.surpasshosting.com) has introduced UK shared hosting plans that better satisfy the high demands of European customers.
According to the company's announcement last week, the Surpass Hosting servers that power the UK hosting service are physically located at a BlueSquare Data (www.bluesquaredata.com) facility near London, offering greater redundancy, increased bandwidth, and fewer network hops to reach web users throughout Europe and Asia.
Surpass Hosting's US operations already have more than 30,000 customers, and its new hosting plans in the UK will be similar to stateside plans, but will be priced slightly higher to account for the greater operating costs in the new market. There are currently four shared hosting plans available for the UK market.
At the low end, Surpass Hosting's shared hosting plan, "Power UK"starts as low as $8 (about £5.4) per month and includes 500GB of disk space and unmetered bandwidth. The most comprehensive plan, "Business UK," starts at $34 (about £23) and features 9999GB of disk space, unmetered bandwidth, unlimited domains, and a 100 percent uptime guarantee.
"With such a broad range of customers, it is important for our team to continually reevaluate how we can best serve the constantly evolving hosting market," Surpass Hosting sales vice president Kayla Fleming said in a statement. "In recent months, we have noticed increasing demand from Europe-based customers seeking to host their sites on Europe-based servers, without sacrificing the affordability and flexibility Surpass Hosting offers in the US. Based on these demand conditions, it makes sense for us to offer a similar service in Europe."
Surpass Hosting plans on offering similar services in Brazil, New Zealand, Mexico and Malaysia in the coming months.
These, however, are not the only hosting plans Surpass Hosting has been rolling out recently. In March, the company launched a "developer hosting plan," featuring more than a dozen development frameworks and a wide variety of key tools for web developers, as well as a free private IP address, unlimited shell access, and access to several pre-loaded software revision control systems. Starting at $15 per month, developers have access to 1000GB of disk space, un-metered monthly data transfer, a dedicated SSL certificate, and the ability to host up to five domain names.
