Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic has landed Geico Corp. as the title sponsorship of its nightly news program.

Beginning Monday, the show will relaunch as Geico SportsNite at 6:30 p.m., 10 p.m., 11 p.m. and 1 a.m.

The Bethesda-based sports network did not disclose financial details of the multi-year sponsorship.

“Here at Geico we are excited about this sponsorship as it provides a great platform for us to reach a truly engaged audience,” said Ted Ward, vice president of marketing for the Chevy Chase-based auto insurer. “Comcast SportsNet provides us an efficient and effective means to reach potential policyholders and remind them that we might be able to save them a significant amount of money on their car insurance.”

The terms of the deal include displaying a new Geico SportsNite logo in the opening animation, Geico SportsNite desk signage, and all other promotional materials, including Web site, advertising, on-air branding.

There will also be verbal mention of Geico SportsNite leading into the show and wrapping up the program.

They will have sponsorship of the network’s sports ticker and billboards during the program, and other details include marketing promotion on the Web site.

Comcast SportsNet launched the 30-minute program upon the inception of the network in 2001 and highlights the mid-Atlantic region’s professional and collegiate teams, athletes, and coaches.

Comcast Sports Group operates 10 sports networks that cover more than 2,400 live sporting events annually.
