Web conferencing company iLinc Communications Inc. is heading to a California convention with a Toyota Prius in tow, looking to give it away in a promotion for its latest software release.

The Phoenix-based company's officials will take the car to the Internet Telephony Conference Expo West in Los Angeles Sept. 16-18 and give away the Prius on the last day of the event.

The move is intended to promote the release of iLinc 10, Web conferencing software that includes a "Green Meter" to track the amount of pollutants participants avoided by using the software rather than traveling.

The company recently was a finalist in the Valley Forward Association's Environmental Excellence Awards.
